Two Cute Kids and Some Birthday Cake ( age 5)

Two Cute Kids and Some Birthday Cake

Paul's Ninja Turtle Fifth Birthday Party

Paul's fifth birthday party was one of his funnest parties to plan.  I love how the Ninja Turtles have made a comeback after all of these years!

The Cake:  My sister, Kate Bussell ( Auntie Katie's Cakes) made Paul's Ninja turtle cake. Again, it was the hit of the party!

The Party: We found the goodie bags on easy.com.  The turtles peel off the front of the bags and can be used as magnets after.  My Mom also made her yummy cupcakes to go with the cake.  Each child received a Ninja Turtle t-shirt in their goodie bag made at Coex t shirts . Paul and Lucy wore theirs for the party...and all of the kids really liked getting a shirt that they could wear in their goodie bag.  At first we thought it would be expensive to do t-shirts as a favor, but it didn't cost more than we would normally spend on all of those party store toys to fill the bag!

Thank you for making my cake Auntie Katie!

The Venue: We had this party at cederland Family Fun Center in Haverhill, MA. Paul chose to have 1/2 swimming and 1/2 arcade for his party. This worked out really well. We were very happy with Cederdale as a birthday party venue.

Happy Fifth Birthday Paul Daniel! We love you!!!!!!!

Paul's Lego Hero Factory Fourth Birthday Party!

When Paul was four years old he was really into the Lego Heroes.  It was a bit difficult to plan this party because it was not an actual theme at the party stores. Lucky for us, we had his party at Bounce U. They supplied the paper products and balloons so we didn't need to worry about that!

The Cake: We ordered Paul's birthday cake from Jaques Pastry.  They had the idea to scan a photo of the Lego Heroes to the top of the cake as the characters were so detailed they were hard to create. Paul LOVED his cake and so didn't his friends.

Lego Heroes to the Rescue!

The Party:  We had Paul a T-shirt made from COEX Custom Shirts. It was great choosing any design from the web to put on his shirt. BOUNCE U was an amazing place to have a party. They are a nation wide chain with locations across the country. Unfortunately, the location we had Paul's party in Bedford, NH is no longer there.  However, we are hoping another opens soon! The staff helped Paul open gifts, wrote down who gave what present, and then brought the gifts out to the car. They cut/served both pizza and cake, and kept the children organized.

The Birthday Boy: Happy fourth birthday Paul, we love you!

2 Cute Kids and Some Birthday Cake ( Year 3)

Two Cute Kids and Some Birthday Cake

If you ask Little Miss Lucy how old she is she will confidently reply, " six." Contrary to her belief our wonderful ray of sunshine will not be three until September 22nd. So until then, we will be reflecting on Paul's birthday parties...and he WILL actually be six in October:)

Paul's Buzz Lightyear Third Birthday Party!!!!

When Paul was three he truly believed himself to be THE Buzz Lightyear!  I'll never forget the time my husband bought him the retractable wings and I saw them for the first time.  There was NO doubt in our minds that his third birthday party would be Buzz Lightyear theme.

The Cake: Auntie Katie ( Auntie Katie's Cakes) made Paul's Buzz Lightyear Cake.  Paul was fascinated by it! She designed the cake to be Planet Zurtron- his home planet. Paul insisted on wearing his Buzz costume with wings during the singing of Happy Birthday!

So Proud!
The Party: We had Paul's third birthday party at Imajine That in Lawrence, MA.  It is an indoor play place with multiple birthday party rooms.  We ordered food and soda from them, but also chose to order mac n cheese and some other goodies from Sal's downstairs. Imajine that took care of Buzz plates, cups, and balloons.  Paul's favorite part was running around and around with his friends. Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!

The Birthday Boy: This was the first birthday party that we threw outside of our house. Paul was so excited, he couldn't wait to go! Paul's class also celebrated with Paul in preschool that day. His teacher made him a crown and the kids all sang Happy Birthday to Paul Daniel.

Happy Third Birthday Paul...We love you so much!

Paul's Sesame Street Second Birthday!

Paul was very into Sesame Street when he was two years old because of a trip we took to Sesame Place in PA. We chose to do Sesame Street instead of an Elmo party because we there were so many opportunities for creativity with all of the characters.

The Cake: My sister made Paul's Sesame Street cake ( Auntie Katie's Cakes). She was so excited to make Elmo out of sugar...and Paul sure did love eating it!

The Party: We had so much fun planning this party!  Each child received a party bag and a homemade Sesame Street sign with their name on it.  This party was in 2009 and I still see these signs hanging up at friend's houses:)  The kids were also able to make an Elmo or Cookie Monster hat, and there were other various goodies and activities throughout the night.
We used the name signs as decorations for the party.

How many cookies are in Cookie Monster's Jar?

Even Dorothy made an appearance!

Favors for the grownups!

Name Signs

Dorothy's Gold Fish Bar....was a huge hit!

Big Bird shared some birdseed!

Paul Daniel's Little Einstein's Birthday Party!
When Paul was one he was obsessed with Disney's the Little Einsteins. There was no doubt in our minds that this would be the best first birthday party theme for him.

The Cake: This was the first birthday cake that my sister Kate Bussell( Auntie Katie's Cakes) made for my kids.  It was amazing! She made two cakes...the bottom layer looked like the sky and the top layer was rocket...Paul's own personal cake! She also made extra cupcakes on the side.

The Goodie Bags: Little Einsteins party bags from the party store. We filled the bags with age appropriate goodies:)
The Setup:  We put a bunch of kiddie tables together and sang happy birthday to Paul. The kids seemed to like being able to sit together.
The Food:  A fun SURPRISE from our local pizza shop Palermo's Pizza in Derry, NH.

The Birthday Boy: Paul Daniel Barbagallo Age: One

We love you little pumpkin!!!!!!!

Lucy's Animal Safari First Birthday Party!
When Lucy was one she wasn't into much...other than her big brother Paul!  The one thing she did seem to like a lot was animals. Her favorite snuggly was a lion...so from there we threw  her a baby animal safari party.

The Cake: My sister, Kate Bussell( Auntie Katie's Cakes) made Lucy's Safari birthday cake.  We loved all of the animals that she made out of sugar for our little sweetie!

The Party:Thankfully, it was a warm September day for Methuen MA, so we were able to have the party outside! I used different colored table clothes on the tables, and I used safari stuffed animals and inflatable pool toys as centerpieces and decorations.  For balloons we did pink and brown to match the plates, napkins, goodie bags, etc.  The goodie bags were cute! We did age appropriate animal themed bags.  For the older kids we bought animal pencils, erasers, and note pads. For the babies we bought bonnets that had monkey and elephant ears.
Our Church, Granite United Church in Salem, NH  lent us our tables.

My Mother in Law Shirley Barbagallo made cardboard cutouts for decorations!

The Birthday Girl: We bought Lucy's birthday outfit at Crazy 8. Her little socks have giraffes on them:)

Happy First Birthday Lucy Marie! We Love You!
